Suite of four side or dining chairs in natural beechwood and fabric. Of classic LXVI form. With a flat square back 'à chapeau de gendarme', on tapered legs connected by an H-shaped spacer.

French, the work of a Parisian joiner, 18th century, circa 1790.

Covered in a red, tan and beige gros point tapestry, in a stripe and small geometric floral design.

Overall in excellent condition. Woodwork and joinery is solid. A few minor stains to the tapestry but in very good condition.

The restrained use of decoration provides a beautifully understated look to these chairs. Elegant simplicity without pretension.
