An elegant pair of armchairs in natural beechwood and leather. French, transition Louis XV – Louis XVI period 18th century, circa 1770. Not stamped, but based on a model by George Jacob.

With a curved, horseshoe shaped back, curved armrests, and turned, stop fluted legs. Covered in tan leather with embossed and gilt detailing.

In very good condition. Frame and joints all strong. The interior (webbing etc.) has been renewed. The characterful old leather shows signs of wear and use, but has been reinforced and re-conditioned and should provide many more years of use.
