Lampe Berger Baccarat
Lampe Berger in Baccarat crystal, French, early 20th century…
Lampe Berger air purification lamp in clear cut crystal with metal fixtures. Model P Amphora – a collaboration between Lampe Berger and Baccarat. Circa 1930.
The body is of amphora shape, with six faceted sides, standing on a six-sided foot.
The metal bears the marks ‘Lampe Berger’ and ‘Made in France’. The crystal bears the famous Baccarat trademark – a circular seal with ‘Baccarat’ (above), ‘France’ (below) around a decanter flanked by a wine glass on the left and a cup on the right. Here, the trademark is found on a paper sticker affixed to the underside of the foot.
We can date this piece to pre-1936, as Baccarat utilized the paper trademark labels from the 1860’s until 1936. After 1936, Baccarat trademarked their crystal with acid etching. It is rare to find early pieces like this one that still retain their label – and in such good condition.
In excellent condition – minor wear (micro scratches) to the underside of the foot, and a tiny chip on the body (see picture). New wick.
