Arguably the most popular print from this well-known series which depicts women of different backgrounds and occupations from the Kansei to the Meiji eras. Each print highlights the expression of a different mood or character trait. In this print, a concubine emerges from mosquito netting, gazing drowsily at the viewer, her hair is disheveled and her comb is falling out. Her loose cotton yukata has slipped from her shoulders exposing her breasts.

A first edition print with guaffrage and the three color title cartouche. With original album backing paper.

A fine impression with fine colors in a good state of preservation with only minor wear and browning of paper.

Presented within an off-white passepartout and framed in a narrow black-lacquered metal frame, protected under museum glass (> 70% UV protection, and non-reflective).
