Mirror or 'Psyche' in Mahogany & bronze, France, 19th C...
A large Psyche (mirror) in polished, patinated mahogany and flame mahogany veneers. The arched mirror pivots between two tapered columns, which are topped with lovely gilt brass urns. Columns attached to stylized legs raised on roller feet, attached by a cross bar.
France, epoque Restoration, first half of the 19th century.
Good overall condition. Signs of age, wear and use as would be expected. The mirror glass is old, but most likely not the original.
Recent light restoration work completed (re-fitting one of the legs, inserting metal sleeve for the pins in the columns etc.) and structurally solid.
Frame (columns, legs, cross bar) can be dismantled to facilitate transport.
