A large Neo-classical mirror in carved, gilt, and painted wood, 19th century...
Mirror glass set in a carved, gilt and painted frame. Of architectural form. The left and right sides are decorated with pilasters with Corinthian capitols, the top consists of an architrave, frieze, and cornice, and the bottom consists of a decorated shelf base.
Detailed carving all over, with architectural and Neo-classical motifs including swirling acanthus leaves and stylized urns and vases which are nicely set off against a dark ground.
In overall good condition. Some signs of wear and age, and an old repair to the left capitol (see photos). Nice gilding and a rich patina.
