Finely detailed and sculpted in gilt bronze, in the form of bacchanal putti with grapevine  garland crowns, holding aloft a pair of cornucopias, each surmounted with a floral plumed candle receptacle.

Mounted atop an oval base of Carrara marble fronted with a ‘frise de rinceaux’ or frieze with scroll of interlaced vines and grapes. Raised on 4 bronze toupie feet.

French, Louis XVI-style,  19th Century.

Charming pieces – very expressive and engaging. Allegory of the harvest – infants literally trumpeting the harvest.
